With core business thriving in Hong Kong, in the meantime the company
is also active on the Mainland China, and is actively developing
its markets in other regions of Asia in a bid to expand its business
scope.
At the beginning of 1995 ZHEC successfully managed a marine works
project in Taiwan. In 1996 the company won an engineering contract
in Brunei. Since then, ZHEC has also formed joint ventures with
multinational companies to develop the Thilawa Container Terminal
Project in Yangon, Myanmar. ZHEC has also established the Myanmar-Zhen
Hua Co., Ltd. for overall planning of business development in
Myanmar, which has become one of the major local engineering contractors.
Currently, ZHEC manages overseas markets directly in Sri Lanka,
Indonesia and Panama.
ZHEC successfully contracted many port works in Sri Lanka including
the Port of Colombo Feeder Berth Project and the Port of Galle
Piled Pier Project. Meanwhile, the company is expanding its business
into the supply of port machinery and other civil engineering
works, such as road construction. The company has now become one
of competitive international contractors in the Sri Lanka market.
Currently the core business of ZHEC in Indonesia covers stripping
for open pit mines, reclamation and dredging. The company's typical
projects include the Jakarta International Container Terminal
Expansion and the Channel Dredging at Banjarmasin and the stripping
project at Kundur.
ZHEC's development in these overseas markets is rapidly gaining
momentum, and is already a new bright spot of its business.
ZHEC maintains close ties and cooperation with various large
property developers and aims to expand its market share in areas
such as property development, property rental and management.
In this way the company will meet the demands of modern society
for better housing for the public and high quality office facilities
for companies.
