The works include widening a section of Tai Po Highway (Sha Tin Section) of about 1.1 km in length between Sha Tin Plaza near Sha Tin Heung Sze Wui Road to Wo Che Villagers and Lou near Fo Tan Road from two-way two-lane divided carriageway to two-way Route 3 to separate carriageways, rebuild the existing Sha Tin Heung Sze Wui Road Interchange and two existing footbridges, install noise barriers, set up a traffic control and surveillance system and other related works.

This project has improved the noise problem of this road, reducing traffic congestion and noise impact.
