PAA Contract No. 201,The Chek Lap Kok Airport – Site Preparation project is the shortest and largest excavation and earth removal project in the world at that time. During the entire construction period, a total of 347 million cubic meters of materials were removed. Approximately 90 million m³ of all-in-materials were excavated and hauled for reclamation to form an artificial island of 1.300 hectares for the new air-port.
