EHC/LAT Tunnel, Site Formation & Associated Works

EHC/LAT Tunnel, Site Formation & Associated Works involved construction of two 600m long bored running tunnels by drill and blast method (between Yau Tong and Lam Tin Stations); to construct two 450m long cut-and-cover tunnels in rock including the design and installation of floodgates (between Yau Tong and The Eastern Harbour Crossing); to undertake the bulk excavation of 1.9 million m³ in soil and rock; to divert major utilities and realign Yau Tong Road; and to construct a ventilation building and a sub-station at Quarry Bay.

The Eastern Cross Harbour Tunnel is the second cross-harbour tunnel in Hong Kong that passes through Victoria Harbour, connecting Quarry Bay on Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Cha Kwo Green, which has played an important role in facilitating the travel of Hong Kong citizens and promoting economic development.
